The Black Sitcom is Making a Come Back!

Thanks to BET and other cable networks the black sitcom is making a huge come back. First it started with BET picking up The Game after it being canceled for two years, and shortly after that came BET's original series Let's Stay Together. Just with the airing of these two shows I knew that the black sitcom was soon to make a come back. I knew that it wasn't going to stop here, especially after the success of The Game and Let's Stay Together. So what's next?

The question "what's next?" comes to mind. Weeks have passed and the two shows that we've grown to love are at the end of their seasons. Many wondered if BET would pick The Game up for season 5 and if Let's Stay Together would be back for another season. The good news is that both shows got picked up for another season. This is when I really got excited and began researching what was soon to come in the near future for black television.

I've recently found out that BET was premiering yet another sitcom starting in October 2011 starring Tracee Ellis Ross and Malcolm Jamal Warner called Reed Between The Lines. While extremely excited about what's new, I must acknowledge what's currently on television. Are We There Yet and House of Payne are some of the other shows that are on and that I love. It's safe to say that the black sitcom has finally made it's come back.
